Jinzhong Institute of Information and Technology, owing to its outstanding educational strength, distinctive nurturing characteristics, and steadily growing social reputation, secured fifth place nationally and has consistently ranked first among similar institutions in Shanxi Province for three consecutive years (2024–2026).
It is reported that the ABC Ranking is exclusively compiled by ABC Consulting, an authoritative third‑party rating and evaluation agency, and is simultaneously released on its official website, the China University Ranking (CNUR). The ranking is based on a comprehensive assessment of multiple institutional indicators, and its scientific and objective evaluation system has become an important reference for measuring the development level of private universities.
According to the publicly available selection mechanism, this year's ranking is centred on objective data and incorporates annual hot topics in educational development. It systematically analyses universities across eight dimensions: institutional level, financial support, faculty, discipline development, talent cultivation, teaching construction, academic performance, and annual public sentiment. All data are sourced from publicly available institutional information, teaching quality reports, official departmental websites, and authoritative media reports, ensuring both the fairness of the evaluation process and the credibility of the results.
In recent years, the institute has achieved remarkable educational outcomes, with its overall strength and social reputation rising in tandem. In 2025, the institute was recognised as a national model "one‑stop" student community, named one of only three "New Model Applied Undergraduate Universities" in the country, and received the "2025 Most Influential Undergraduate University on the Internet" award. In terms of programme development, three majors, including Digital Media Technology, passed the German ZEvA international accreditation unconditionally. In the field of holistic education, the Wumahe Rugby Union filled a provincial gap, and the Flower Children's Choir performed on a national stage. Students have repeatedly won first prizes in national high‑level academic competitions. The Western Plan volunteer service team, which included outstanding graduates and volunteers Wang Yizhi and Huang Shaozhu, was awarded the 2025 "China Youth May Fourth Medal". Wang Yizhi, as a representative of the service team, wrote a letter on behalf of the team and received a reply from the General Secretary. These landmark achievements fully demonstrate the solid pace of the institute's high‑quality development.
Since its establishment in 2002, the institute has consistently adhered to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, implemented the Party's educational policy, and taken information technology as its distinguishing feature.
